The MADe software (Maintenance Aware Design environment) is a modelling, analysis and decision support solution that can be used to optimise the design of a system to achieve high inherent reliability and minimise life-cycle costs (specifically maintenance).

MADe enables the user to understand expected availability of a platform / system based on alternate Mission Profiles, Load Factors and Operating Environments - and conduct 'what-if' analysis based on economic, operational and engineering considerations.

MADe provides users with a model of the system that automates identification of failures and how they can propagate through a system (i.e. identify potential failure modes). Once failures are identified, a series of defined workflows enables appropriate mitigation actions to be selected by the user (e.g. re-design, alter the operating use case, maintenance action, diagnostics). Mitigation is then assessed based on the specific operational, technical and economic constraints on the platform.

MADe has unique capabilities to derive / design / validate diagnostic capabilities to support system / platform Fault Detection & Isolation (FDI) capabilities to support Condition Based Maintenance capability.
