Orontide is a WA owned and operated company providing specialist engineering, fabrication, preservation and maintenance services for over 35 years. Orontide’s long and respected history servicing the Defence and Commercial Marine Industries is built from our extensive experience in ship and submarine repairs, maintenance and preservation, along with our track record in meeting tight deadlines and the ability to provide safe, high quality solutions to extend asset life. Orontide has the capability to perform design, installation and surface treatment tasks in a wide range of environments to suit vessel location with regular works carried out by our personnel in both Henderson and HMAS Stirling. Orontide currently has a maintenance contract in place as a prime contractor to NSM (Naval Ship Management).
Orontide understands the strict welding criteria and required to carry out Defence tasks and has invested significantly to ensure personnel are qualified to, monitored and comply with DNV/GL 3834 standards. Orontide’s established relationships with Prime Contractors, including BAE and NSM are recognised as key contributors to our ongoing success in the Defence industry. Our most recent work in the Defence sector has seen us providing vital maintenance work on internal areas, decks and tanks as part of the Anti-Ship Missile Defence (ASMD) and ANZAC Group Maintenance contracts.

Our extensive experience in ship and submarine repairs has seen Orontide engaged to deliver both engineering and industrial services to submarines with tasks including the application of Thermal Spray Aluminium to sonar and distributed array panels along with the manufacturing of fenders for the Collins Class submarines.
Other capabilities include:
• Fabrication and welding of structural steel/aluminium, pressure equipment and piping to class requirements (DNV GL/Lloyds Register/AS).
• Mechanical Engineering, machining and precision manufacture of steel and aluminium components.
• Mechanical Engineering installation, removal, repair and maintenance of varying equipment including but not limited to pumps, mechanical seals, valves, compressors, winches, gearboxes pressure/suction systems and cooling/heating systems.
• Sheet metal fabrication/repair including cutting, pressing, bending, folding and TIG welding of sheet steel and aluminium. Fabrication of vent trunking and HVAC requirements.
• Insulation removal and installations adapted to specific temperature and system requirements. Capabilities ranging from HVAC, engine exhaust, chilled and hot water piping requirements utilising class specific materials.
• Pressure testing of systems and pipework. Capability to achieve full system pressure testing and certification in conjunction with operational service testing.
